About

About the band:

Our main influence is our namesake…the great Belgian/French Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt.
Django Reinhardt has astounded and thrilled numerous generations of guitar players and jazz lovers with his amazing command of the guitar. Together with Stephane Grappeli they formed the famous “Hot club of France” in 1934 , and based on the Gypsy jazz guitar stylings of Django , a whole new style of Jazz was developed….called Le jazz hot .
This music has an infectious driving rhythm and incorporates most of the standard pop and jazz tunes of the 20′s ,30’s ,40’s , and 50’s as well as modern day compositions.
The Djangophiles , in keeping with the tradition of the music use only acoustic instruments ,and use sound reinforcement only when absolutely necessary….The result is a comfortable listening level that is never too loud or intrusive, and we also have the ability to set up in limited space .

The Djangophiles perform as a revolving ensemble …… Duo to quintet.
